Patriots Dismantle Dolphins 43-0 in Antonio Brown Debut

The New England Patriots blanked the Miami Dolphins 43-0 as Antonio Brown debuted with 56 yards receiving and a touchdown.

MIAMI, FL — Antonio Brown made an instant impact in his Patriots debut. The wide receiver led all receivers with 4 catches for 56 yards and the Patriots only receiving touchdown on the day as the Patriots routed the Dolphins 31-0.

Brown and Brady were hot early connecting on their first four attempts. Definitely some chemistry issues later in the gams as Brady missed Brown for an easy score in the 3rd quarter.

Not clear what happens with Brown going forward. The NFL will reportedly meet with the woman who accused the Pats receiver of rape and sexual assault on Monday. There’s a wide range of outcomes that still remain possible as far as what the league and Patriots might do going forward.

Defense Dominates

Take everything with a grain of salt when playing the Dolphins but the Patriots defense put forth another dominating performance. Pitching a 43-0 shutout. It’s the third consecutive game the Patriots have not allowed an offensive touchdown. The Pats have not allowed a first half touchdown in 5 games dating back to the AFC divisional game against the LA Chargers.

No Wynn Situation

Left tackle Isaiah Wynn tapped out of the Patriots 2nd drive. He was a little gimpy coming off the field and disappeared into the blue medical tent. He headed off to the locker room and did not return with a foot injury. This would be a disaster for a team that’s already down a tackle with Marcus Cannon not playing today and without starting center David Andrews for the rest of the season.

Sony Michel Rebounds

After rushing for only 13 yards in week 1, Sony Michel had a nice bounce-back performance. 21 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown. He did put the ball on the ground late in the 4th as the Patriots were trying to run off the clock.

Gordon MIA in Miami

After a terrific opener Josh Gordon pulled a bit of a disappearing act. He caught only two balls for 19 yards while committing an offensive pass interference penalty.

Pick 6, No wait Pick 12

The Dolphins had a little something going on their first drive of the 4th quarter but Ryan Fitzpatrick thew late over the middle and Stephon Gilmore stepped in front of Devante Parker and just waltzed in for a 54 yard touchdown. On the next drive Fitzpatrick threw another one off a deflection. This one courtesy of Jaime Collins who took it 69 yards for the score. One of two picks for Collins on the day.

Gotskowski No Good

That phrase was spoken 3 times on the afternoon as the Patriots placekicker missed a field goal and two extra points.
