The Denver Broncos lost in the AFC championship to the New England Patriots by a final score of 10-7. Broncos head coach Sean Payton was criticized for not taking the field goal on 4th and 1 early in the 1st half of the game against the patriots. In a recent ESPN article, written by Seth Wickersham, the author claims Payton originally wanted to run the football rather than pass. Seth writes – “Generally, if the Broncos are driving and faced with fourth-and-short yardage, they will strongly consider going for it. If it’s fourth-and-1 after the opponent turns the ball over and gives Denver a short field, Payton will usually take the points.” Broncos Breakdown host Trace Moustakas gives his thoughts and analysis on Sean Payton and the Broncos 2025 season.
