It looks like Celtics big man, Robert Williams III isn’t satisfied with his career night, as Williams said postgame, after losing 104-93 vs the Nets, “It doesn’t mean s*** if we lose.”
Williams has been battling turf toe for weeks and was questionable heading into the game. Williams played and came off the bench for the Celtics, and they were a different team when he was on the floor. As the Garden Report highlights Timelord’s career night, and discuss what he brought to both sides of the ball.
Playing 23 minutes, Williams neared a triple-double: 11 PTS, 9 REBS, and 9 BLKS. Williams was swatting away shots close to the rim and jumpers. Williams not only set a career-high, but also a new Celtics postseason single-game record. (Blocks weren’t an official stat when Bill Russell played.) Also, he is tied for the 2nd all-time in playoff blocks in a game.
