Russell Westbrook is now the king of the Triple Double. The Wizards guard set the NBA record with his 182nd career game with 10 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. Westbrook became the first player since Oscar Robertson to average those figures for a season in 2016-17 when he won NBA MVP. He went on to do so for three straight seasons with the Thunder and 2020-21 will mark his fourth, as he passes Robertson in career triple doubles. Westbrook took a moment to react and pat himself on the back, in awe that he’s entered the same conversation as legends like Robertson and Jason Kidd, setting the record with 28 points, 21 assists and 13 rebounds as Washington prepares to appear in the play in tournament after one of the worst starts in the league.
