Wizards coach Scott Brooks was interviewed after the Wizards’ 118-100 loss vs the Celtics in the NBA play-in game. Coach Brooks spoke about the team’s bad game and Jayson Tatum’s stellar performance.
The Wizards suffered their worst loss in a long time last night. The shot only 3-21 from three and lost by 18 points, the most they have lost by in over a month. Both Bradley Beal, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, and Russell Westbrook struggled shooting the ball. When asked about their rough game, Brooks had this to say: “Nobody tried to play bad. We didn’t play well.”
Brooks also commented on Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum, who dropped a game-high 50 points in the win. Tatum got to the free-throw line 17 times and made every single free throw. No one on the Wizards had an answer for him on the offensive end. “He’s gonna be an MVP in this league soon,” said Brooks.
The Wizards will now take on the Indiana Pacers in the second play-in game. The winner will advance to the NBA Playoffs as the eight-seed, while the loser will be out.
