Scottie Scheffler Favorite to Win the Masters at Augusta National this Weekend

The 87th edition of the Masters tournament is set to tee off this Thursday, April 6th. As as is tradition, Augusta National held its annual Masters Club Dinner on Tuesday evening.

Cheeseburger sliders, firecracker shrimp, Texas ribeye, and more were served to the previous champions as last year’s winner, Scottie Scheffler, picked out the menu.

Will tortilla soup be severed again in 2024 ? It’s likely, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Scheffler is the favorite to win it this year as well. Here’s a look at the odds:

Odds to Win 2023 Masters

Scottie Scheffler                         +700

Rory McIlroy                               +700

Jon Rahm                                    +950

Jordan Spieth                            +1700

Patrick Cantlay                         +1800

Justin Thomas                          +2100

Tony Finau                                +2400

Dustin Johnson                        +2500

Xander Schauffele                   +2500

Cameron Smith                        +2800

Collin Morikawa                      +2800

Jason Day                                 +2800

Scheffler (+700) shot a -7 en route to a three-stroke victory over Rory McIlroy (+700) in 2022. He’s the World’s #1 golfer in the OWGR and .. He’s the easy pick, and might be the right one.

The LIV tour players with the shortest odds to win the prestigious tournament are Dustin Johnson (+2500) and Cameron Smith (+2800). Johnson won the Masters in 2020 with a record score of 20 under par (268). Smith left the PGA for LIV after winning the 2022 Players Championship and the 2022 Open Championship.

Fan favorite Tiger Woods holds 70/1 odds to win the tournament. Tiger came out of nowhere in 2019 to win the Masters, his first Major championship since 2008, and has been a favorite for bettors ever since. Unfortunately, I think it’s a long shot (literally) for Woods this weekend.

The pick(s): FanDuel has a prop (via the Ringer) that has one of Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, or Max Homa to win at +500. That’s my pick and I’m sticking to it.

P.S. I also have some cash on Brooks Koepka at +3800 and will Zalatoris at +4400.
