Steve Nash Practice Interview | Celtics vs Nets Game 3

Steve Nash was interviewed after the Nets’ practice ahead of Game 3 vs the Boston Celtics in their first-round series. Nash talked about the recent incidents involving Trae Young and Russell Westbrook, the comments Kyrie Irving made about Boston, and his experiences in Boston.

Both Westbrook and Young were involved in incidents with fans in the past 24 hours. Nash was asked about the fans going into Boston, and commented on the recent issues around the league: “There’s a line for sure where you don’t want the fans to cross that line… players definitely have a firmer line… 90% of it is positive… we go into a hostile environment and we welcome it… we want to face some adversity.”

Nash was also asked about whether or not he’s ever talked with Irving about issues in Boston. This was his response: “I mean it never really crossed my mind to talk to Ky about it because I know how strong he is as an individual… he’s probably faced it before… that doesn’t make it right… I think he can handle it, one, it’s not warranted or acceptable… that’s kind of it, we all know that.”

Lastly, Nash was asked about his experiences in Boston in terms of racial issues. This was his response: “It’s not an easy one for me to discuss, being caucasian… I haven’t experienced that side of it… it’s not necessarily something that I can comment on… we hope that as loud and as demanding as the atmosphere is, we hope that it’s obviously above board.”
