The Celtics got back in the win column today, stomping the Timberwolves 123-108. The C’s were without many key players but had a couple of reserves step up to the plate.
Tremont Waters and Luke Kornet both played huge parts in the win. Waters finished with 14 points and 7 rebounds, both career-highs. Meanwhile, Kornet filled up the stat sheet. He had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and four blocks for the game.
Jayson Tatum and Evan Fournier both decided to play vs the Timberwolves when many thought they would take the game off to nurse injuries like some of their teammates did. Both players explained their decision in their postgame interviews.”
The Celtics will finish up their season tomorrow at Madison Square Garden when they take on the Knicks at 1:00 PM. They will face the winner of tomorrow’s Hornets-Wizards matchup in the first round of the play-in on Tuesday.
