Jayson Tatum was interviewed postgame after the Celtics’ 123-108 win vs the Minnesota Timberwolves. He talked about why he played in this game, his chemistry with Evan Fournier, and how to build up momentum for the playoffs.
Tatum spoke about why he played in this game when so many of his teammates were out due to injury, and he could have had an opportunity to rest. “It’s just been such an up and down season… this was just a good opportunity,” he stated. “I know that we had a lot of guys that weren’t able to play… kind of play with different groups and different lineups.”
He also talked about building chemistry with new teammate Evan Fournier. This is what he had to say on the matter. “We’re figuring it out… just getting a feel to play with each other… we got a big game coming up Tuesday.”
Lastly, Tatum commented on building up momentum for the playoffs. This is what he had to say on how the game today helped that. “I wasn’t necessarily worried about the outcome today, like I said, just wanted to come out here and play well… I think we did that… just something to build towards.”
