Betting Favorite to Lead NFL in Passing? Hint, it’s Not Tom Brady

According to, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has the tenth best odds to throw for the most yards this NFL season.

Entering uncharted territory at age 42, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be entering his 20th NFL season with some new faces on the offensive end. As a result, Brady is listed as a +2000 underdog to lead the NFL in passing yards this season, according to

Kansas City Chiefs young gunslinger Patrick Mahomes and Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan co-lead the list, as +400 favorites.

It should come to no surprise that the favorites include the former MVP, who dazzled in his first full season last year throwing for 5,097 yards, good enough for second in the entire league. And Ryan wasn’t far behind, tossing 4,924 yards finishing in third.

Ben Roethlisberger comes in tied for the fifth best odds after leading the entire league in passing yards last season with 5,129. His production is expected to drop following the Steelers trading star receiver Antonio Brown to the Oakland Raiders.

Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers and Tom Brady round out the top 10. Brady finished seventh in the league last year with 4,355 yards, but lost receiving threats in Rob Gronkowski and Chris Hogan, while Josh Gordon’s future still remains unclear.
